One small serving of GF Souffle Pancake

I recently came across many channels that featured a particular pancakes on: youtube, blogs, social media — there is a craze for fluffy Japanese Souffle pancakes right now it seems. I made it the other day because I was intrigued. I think Japanese people really love light and delicate foods, and who doesn’t love a…

GF Apple Pie

I liked the taste of the apples though! They were cumbersome to cut with and scoop up with a fork. The apples you pick really make or break your pie. I now know this. The very first pie I made wasn’t good at all. This may have been right before college, some time in high school. The granny smith apples I bought in the store was super tart. The pie lacked a lot of sugary flavors despite me following the recipe…. funny enough I met someone in a church group who googled the exact same recipe, but when I ate her version, it was delicious! To this day, I haven’t quite figured out why. But it’s probably the ingredients and the apples.

Japanese/Korean Curry

I wasn’t really a huge fan of Japanese Curry for a long time — it may have been because the first time I ever had it, it was incredibly salty and difficult to eat; I can’t even remember where I had it — it may have been Curry House. My second time at a Japanese Curry House with a friend tasted a lot better, decent even, but not I figured it still wasn’t my favorite type of curry. It’s hard to beat delicious Indian curry, dipped with naan bread….

Gluten free light chocolate muffins

The other day was a good day for some baking, which I haven’t been doing as much. I had made some cold brew sometime earlier in the week, and felt that something baked would go really well with it.

I thought about making some banana bread but then I realized I’m not sure if my boyfriend would eat it with me. The last time I made some, I ended up eating all of it by myself (and I made all lot).

I did remember though that he does like his chocolate as I have made him chocolate muffins before, and he eats all of them every time…..

Gluten free and Corn Free Pizza Crust

It’s a great thing to finally find your favorite pizza crust recipe. I’ve been buying store bought pizza crust; my favorite brand has become the gluten free crust from Namaste, which I can only find at a Roots health foods store, oddly, haven’t seen at a Sprouts. Also, I wasn’t satisfied with some of the gluten free pizza crust recipes out there. Some are passable but not memorable. They sort of just get there, but didn’t quite hit the spot. I recently found one by a Japanese rice flour company, that’s why I put in Komeko flour preferred, which can be ….

Gluten Free Sandwich Bread

When I usually have the time and means to, I tend to make my own sandwich bread. I have tried a variety of recipes online, and more often then not, they’re a hit and a miss. Most people love to label their breads as “the best-tasting gluten free bread ever!” ….but…

Fruity Smoothie with Pomegranite

It’s so easy to make smoothies these days, I have found that I really love when certain fruits come into season. And now that I’m becoming more Eco-conscious and trying to mitigate further plastic consumption, I had drastically stopped buying frozen fruits because those plastic bags are special — they are reinforced for food safety…

A Shiny Beautiful, new Food Blog

Hello, new shiny blog. I was actually going to repurpose an old blog I had called Foods and Health with a Blog Headline of Tannie-Style, but it soon became an abandoned post. I would get lazy and post on Facebook or Instagram instead. As I started to post more artwork and less personal things, I posted less and less food posts. And then I became overly conscious of the content I was posting. What if it didn’t jive with certain people? I’m also a so-called millennial that took a million pictures of my food. But… I stopped caring about that, and have promised that I would simply enjoy my food…
